UK GfK consumer confidence rose more than expected in April
In the UK, the GfK consumer confidence advanced to -30.00 in April, compared to a level of -36.00 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the consumer confidence index to rise to -35.00.
Euro-zone trade deficit unexpectedly narrowed in February
In the Euro-zone, trade deficit unexpectedly narrowed to €0.10 billion in February, compared to a revised deficit of €11.60 billion.
Euro-zone consumer confidence rose more than anticipated in April
In the Euro-zone, the consumer confidence index advanced to -17.50 in April, compared to a level of -19.20 in the prior month. Markets were expecting consumer confidence to rise to -18.50.
German PPI advanced less than expected in March
In Germany, the PPI rose 7.50% on a YoY basis in March, compared to a rise of 15.80% in the previous month. Market expectations were for the index to rise 9.80%.
US initial jobless claims climbed in the week ended 14 April 2023
In the US, initial jobless claims advanced to 245.00 K in the week ended 14 April 2023, compared to a revised level of 240.00 K in the prior week.
US Philadelphia Fed manufacturing unexpectedly dropped in April
In the US, the Philadelphia Fed manufacturing unexpectedly fell to -31.30 in April, compared to a level of -23.20 in the previous month.
