In the UK, the GfK consumer confidence index fell to -30.00 in July, compared to a level of -24.00 in the prior month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to -26.00.
Euro-zone current account surplus widened in May
In Euro-zone, current account surplus widened to €9.10 billion in May, compared to a surplus of €4.00 billion in the previous month.
German PPI unexpectedly rose in June
In Germany, the PPI unexpectedly advanced 0.10% on a YoY basis in June, compared to a rise of 1.00% in the previous month.
US initial jobless claims unexpectedly dropped in the week ended 14 July 2023
In the US, initial jobless claims unexpectedly fell to 228.00 K in the week ended 14 July 2023, compared to a level of 237.00 K in the prior week.
US Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index rose less than expected in July
In the US, the Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index advanced to -13.50 in July, compared to a level of -13.70 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to rise to -10.00.
US existing home sales fell in June
In the US, existing home sales declined 3.30% on a MoM basis in June, compared to a rise of 0.20% in the previous month.
