UK current account deficit unexpectedly widened in 2Q23

In the UK, current account deficit unexpectedly widened to £25.29 billion in 2Q23, compared to a revised deficit of £15.16 billion in the previous quarter.

UK GDP grew as expected in 2Q23

In the UK, GDP rose 0.20% on a QoQ basis in 2Q23, at par with market expectations and compared to a rise of 0.30% in the previous quarter.

US personal income rose as expected in August

In the US, personal income advanced 0.40% on a MoM basis in August, at par with market expectations and compared to a rise of 0.20% in the previous month.

US Chicago Purchasing Managers’ Index fell more than expected in September

In the US, the Chicago Purchasing Managers’ Index declined to 44.10 in September, compared to a level of 48.70 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to drop to 47.60.

US Michigan consumer sentiment index dropped less than expected in September

In the US, the Michigan consumer sentiment index fell to 68.10 in September, compared to a level of 69.50 in the previous month. Markets were expecting the index to fall to 67.70.
