UK GDP rises as expected in August.
In the UK, GDP rose 0.50% on a YoY basis in August, compared a revised rise of 0.30% in the prior month.
UK manufacturing production dropped more than expected in August
In the UK, manufacturing production fell 0.80% in August, compared to a revised drop of 1.20% in the previous month. Markets were expecting manufacturing production to drop 0.40%.
UK total trade deficit widens in August
In the UK, total trade deficit widened to £15.95 billion in August, compared to a revised deficit of £13.90 billion in the prior month. Markets were anticipating a total trade deficit of £14.70 billion.
Germany current account surplus narrows in August
In Germany, current account surplus narrowed to €16.60 billion in August, compared to a surplus of €18.70 billion.
US CPI advances more than expected in September
In the US, the CPI rose 3.70% on a YoY basis in September, compared to a similar rise in the previous month. Markets were expecting the CPI to rise 3.60%.
US initial jobless claims unexpectedly remain steady in the week ended 06 October 2023
In the US, initial jobless claims unexpectedly remained steady at 209.00 K in the week ended 06 October 2023.
