Incorrect - nothing will happen until there's marketing and advertising for KBLB.

Who the fuck would invest in kblb if polartec says WE HAVE SPYDASILK CLOTHING!

Nobody. They'd look to invest in polartec.

Just like when ya boy mojo and his blind followers say 1 metric ton and we'll rise! No, that's for the group of mass manipulators who will feed off a quick bump.

We're waiting for 1.5 metric tons for sales and we're waiting for KBLB marketing/advertising.

Anything else any idiot says here is misleading and not fact based.

They announced November 4 was the completion of Cycle 4 in 2022.  This had mostly parental lines.  If we assume they were cross-bred, that implies the next generation of silk-producing Bam-1 eggs could have hatched in December.  We haven't gotten an update on production cycle 5 (or cycle 1, 2025) yet.  I agree that an update could appear at any time.  Thompson might have held off until Monday because of all of the short weeks we've had here on the stock markets.

"air Jordans are still a thing"

Followed by:

"The general public doesn't buy luxury items."

IDK comparing air Jordans that my 5th grade students can afford to python skin zip up high tops seems STUPID to me. Following that up with "the general public doesn't buy luxury fashion" when you just named the #1 sneaker the general public buys while referring to them as luxury fashion doubles down on the STUPIDITY. Absolutely embarrassingly STUPID.

Again mojo, just because you talk a lot doesn't make you intelligent.

Here's what luxury fashion is:
https://www.mthemovement.com/product-category/m-themovement/

It's items actors wear on the red carpet and the general public sees a photo of it online one day and uses Google image search to see who made it. The general public with money that want to buy the item they searched for will see it at a luxury fashion website and purchase it. It'll be "one of a kind." Air Jordans are not one of a kind, STUPID.

We absolutely need to take the fruit of the loom crowd. They're in the market of sustainable fashion. Longer lasting, cheaper price, lighter weight. How STUPID are you?

Raise your hand if you stare at little boys and have seen their ripped jeans at the knee in the past 25 years......(Only mojo raising their hand). STUPID, sexist.

Flying Wembanyama? He doesn't fly moron. He's tall and can shoot and dunk on his flat feet. STUPID.

Younger generations are into Logan Paul, Messi, new balance, etc. not Nike, STUPID. Not one older generation gives a rats ass about being green. They all voted for the moron that wants to eliminate electric vehicles. Gen z, the younger crowd wants to go green. STUPID.

Where the FUCK do you come up with Nike and Nortface. We have mthemovement, polartec and to my knowledge there's a connection to lands end. That's it. STUPID.

God dammit I'm so sick and tired of your absolute baseless posts on here. Completely out of touch with reality and what's more scary is that people eat your shit up like they do Robert Sullivan on Facebook.

Everything you say is a mother fucking opinion and you act like it's a fact. You've been correct about absolutely nothing since last year.

I could give 2 shits if people don't like my approach, think I'm arrogant, or lying. I'd rather be disliked for the truth than loved for a lie.

I relish everyone's backlash to this post and laugh at your inability to comprehend facts, truth, and reality. I look forward to the insults too. They make me laugh because they come from the 99.5% of people on this message board that have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

"That's true but after the high-end fashion shows are over that lasts about as long as a fart in the wind"

i dont know...air jordans are still a thing, 40 yrs later...but luxury fashion is just where it all begins...after that its gym wear and performance clothing...north face, UA and such...after that its tech textiles and medical...then military...then aerospace...automotive...etc etc...each market ive mentioned are all enormous...we could do well with just concentrating on one...

"The major clothing lines are looking for something to put in the stores that will sell to the general public."

the general public doesnt buy luxury items...i dont know if we will ever try to take over the "Fruit of the Loom" or Walmart crowd...theres no reason we need to...that takes enormous amounts of Bam1 and the profit is better elsewhere...

"What qualities will make it better than the same fabrics they have been buying?"

how about making a pair of jeans for kids and young boys where the knees are stronger and dont tear as easily...boys are hell on jeans...they tear those knees on jeans so quickly....or maybe just the fact that Bam1 is green and biodegradable...little impact on the environment and not much of a footprint...or we could team up with Nike and make air jordans with Bam1...they certainly know how to market and sell a product...Nike and Kblb could both make tons of money...or Nike could use Bam1 to make flying Wembanyama shoes...

we could appeal to the younger generation with Nike and the older generations with the fact that they are a green product...

theres tons of ways and reasons to make things popular and to target whoever you want...but really thats for Nike and North Face and the rest to figure out...we just need to keep increasing production...

high end fashion...people with big bucks or people willing to pay for stuff no one else has...
That's true but after the high-end fashion shows are over that lasts about as long as a fart in the wind. The major clothing lines are looking for something to put in the stores that will sell to the general public. Even the higher end public will forget about a dress worn by some model in last year's show. How are they going to convince people to spend their money on a dress made out of Dragon Silk/cotton yarn? What qualities will make it better than the same fabrics they have been buying? I'm not just trying to be negative. I wear cargo pants everyday so obviously my fashion knowledge is non-existent.

Until they make an actual garment with it, we won’t know for sure, but it should be a premium material for its “very unique” and “desirable” luster.

“The luster of the BAM-1 silk is very unique and desirable. When paired with its strength, we have created a silk that can’t be matched.” — Dr. Nirmal Kumar, May 15, 2024

If you’ve checked your old 100% silk ties, you might notice the silk has started to fray. Because of DS’s physical properties, a tie or garment made with DS should fray less and be more tear resistant which would translate to a higher quality material.

Trellis: “Move over, cotton and leather: Runways make way for seaweed and mushrooms

The future of clothing depends upon new materials. Innovators and brands are working on these potential replacements.

By Elsa Wenzel January 2, 2025”

” Instead of silk

The problem: Silk making is resource-and labor-intensive. Growing mulberry trees to feed a particular silkworm species can also harm biodiversity. It takes several thousand silkworms to make a single yard of silk.

What’s emerging: In ancient Greek myths, the goddess Athena turned Arachne into a spider for bragging about her weaving talents. Only in recent years have scientists tried to mimic in labs the elusive properties of spiderwebs which are stronger than bulletproof Kevlar. Kraig Biocraft Laboratories of Ann Arbor, Michigan, has genetically engineered silkworms to produce spider silk for fibers, but it’s intended for high-performance apparel rather than a silk alternative.”

"What makes Dragon Silk garments better than what's already out there?"

its different...its new...no one else will have it...

my understanding is that it will be in the luxury wear category...high end fashion...people with big bucks or people willing to pay for stuff no one else has...

i suppose it could feel or look a bit unique...that would be great...but "better"?...i dont know...were air jordans actually better?...i dont think so...but people paid $65 for a pair in 1985 which was a very high price...and they sold millions...but they didnt jump any higher or run any faster...

i think tech textiles are a better fit as is medical...but performance clothing will come shortly after luxury...

Kim wants to get the name out there...get the marketing going...advertising...make some money...raise the pps...the rest can come later...

the target isnt the older middle class...they will want to know why they should buy it...why its better...the rich and young will want it because its new and no one else has it...and they wil pay for that...

When I bought in to this 100 years ago it was because of the possible military and medical uses. Now that the first sales are going to be for fashion, I'm wondering how they are going to market it. What makes Dragon Silk garments better than what's already out there?
👍️ 1
SilkRoad SilkRoad 4 days ago
Once the spider silk gets in the hands of those that can make end products with it, THEY will market it. The product will market and sell itself due to the higher quality, yields, and performance than traditional silk. Vietnamese family farms should embrace BAM-1 based on the higher yields alone. Trust takes time.

When I have started any of my businesses...they are always in red in the beginning. 99% of businesses are. My liabilities are extreme sometimes either because of tax planning or cyclical variables. For example when I bought 100acres of lakefront property for $2.3 million, all I had on paper was that liability plus other expenses of tractor, implements, excavation, and so on. So...on paper it looks horrible. The potential is UNREALIZED. However...after the 1st sale (which was house with 1ac) my liabilities went down to $1.8m, then after the 2nd it went down to 1.1m. I am now in the + at 4.7, but took 4 years. KB has UNREALIZED value in sooooo many ways. Science being foremost (in my opinion) and hence that's why I agree with Kim in that the SP doesn't accurately reflect that. Secondly, the production (which is still ramping up). 3rd the Commerce which honestly is still unknown. I wished I could see a tangible metric which showed desire/interest. I know you can look at certain metrics from other endeavors and even the current silk markets but this is an extinct (for a lack of a better word) product. I am relatively certain of KB success...meaning....I am 100% certain in their scientific success but...commercially speaking I am reasonably certain. If the product was not so highly sought after then I wouldn't be as certain. To illustrate...lake property endeavors are more certain because you know buyers interest is so high, whereas property off of the lake is less certain. So, I do believe buyers interest is EXTREMELY high for KB's product. We should see something tangible by Feb both in terms of product and contracts (in my opinion). Feel free to disagree but remember (it's just your opinion also). No one is right or wrong until proven. Much love and Be Smart

“ they have over 9 MILLION in liabilities”
Thanks for posting. When you look at the billions raised by others in pursuit of the holy grail of fibers, only to fail miserably, it makes you appreciate Kim Thompson all the more.

Kraig Labs investors are about to be rewarded handsomely. The VC that funded Bolt, Spiber, Amsilk, and etc flushed their money down the toilet.

Bolt already tried to dump their hot potato on the retail market. I believe Spiber’s death spiral began last year after desperately getting funding from a paint manufacturer… they will soon go the way of Bolt and attempt to send their debt to the market as Kraig Labs emerges as the only viable spider silk company to invest in.

Randy “The Weasel” Lewis tried to destroy Kim right out of the gate and steal his idea. How sweet it will be to see Kim make fools of all his critics in 2025!
