--BlackRock plans to roll out generative artificial intelligence tools to clients next month, according to a report from the Financial Times.

--The asset manager told staff Wednesday that it has used the technology to construct a "co-pilot" for its risk management systems, the report said.

--BlackRock also is building tools for gathering financial and other data for research reports and investment proposals, according to a memo obtained by the Financial Times.

--The AI technology will be used to produce "first drafts" that must go through quality control, with all data remaining inside BlackRock's "walled garden," the report said.
