Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami Will Debut
During Miami Beach’s 100-Year Anniversary
Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE:H) in conjunction with
Miami-based development group Robert Finvarb Companies and its
partner David Martins, today announced the anticipated April 2015
opening of Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami, ideally located at the
lively intersection of 16th Street and Collins Avenue. This
groundbreaking development is one of the most anticipated hotel
openings of the year, coinciding with Miami Beach’s centennial
anniversary.

“We are excited to be working toward our opening and introducing
the Hyatt Centric brand to Miami Beach in its most famous
neighborhood, South Beach,” said Ricardo Mendes, general manager of
Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami. “Our location in the heart of
South Beach will serve as the perfect space for our guests to enjoy
and be inspired to go out and explore.”
Designed by renowned architect Kobi Karp, the 10-story glass
tower stands apart from the more traditional art deco developments,
providing a beautiful complement to the Miami Beach landscape. The
hotel will feature 105 guest rooms, a third-floor deck featuring a
swimming pool and an indoor-outdoor dining experience, 700 square
feet of meeting space, ground-floor retail, and convenient beach
access with chaise lounge chairs and food and beverage service.
Situated on prime South Beach real estate, just steps from the
beach, Hyatt Centric South Beach will put guests in the center of
the action, close to Miami Beach’s premier shopping, restaurants
and nightlife venues.
The new hotel will be one of the first hotels to open under the
Hyatt Centric brand, which launched earlier this year. “We are very
excited to be introducing the Hyatt Centric brand to South
Beach. As someone who was born and raised in Miami Beach, I
feel a tremendous sense of pride in bringing this world-class hotel
brand to my hometown,” said Finvarb.
As a native of Miami Beach, Finvarb has placed a strong emphasis
on honoring his roots with each new development. Kobi Karp, whom
Finvarb personally enlisted as the lead architect and interior
designer of the hotel, has fulfilled his vision of creating an
urban oasis at Hyatt Centric South Beach. The hotel’s design blends
past and present and features a modern glass cube that sits above
the original Art Deco façade of the building. Karp uses the local
culture of South Beach as inspiration for the unique interior
design – the subtle color schemes of grays and soft blues are
simple yet welcoming.
The cosmopolitan vibe will also be felt in guest rooms. The
hotel’s 105 rooms will be unique for South Beach, with 19 rooms
overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Contemporary furnishings and
carefully selected artwork will define the rooms while
floor-to-ceiling windows will provide a luminous view of the hustle
and bustle of the hotel’s exterior.
The hotel will boast an indoor-outdoor lobby on the third floor,
creating a sense of place for guests. The lobby lounge will include
a full-service bar offering hand-crafted signature cocktails and a
space for guests to recharge and socialize. The Corner will house
the hotel’s curated book and magazine selection. Outside, the pool
deck will set a distinct Miami tone, where guests can leisurely
soak up the Miami sun on lush lounge chairs, or unwind in shaded
cabanas. Next-door is Deck 16, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant
that will offer locally sourced cuisine for breakfast, lunch and
dinner. Executive Chef William Milian will invite diners to savor a
variety of Spanish dishes and sip on fresh sangrias. Additional
food and beverage amenities offered by the restaurant will include
24-hour knock n’ drop room service and full beach service.
In addition to catering to leisure travelers, Hyatt Centric
South Beach will serve as an ideal hotel for business guests. The
hotel will offer 700 square-feet of meeting space on the second
floor in a boardroom. Hyatt Centric South Beach will allow for
convenient connectivity with friends, family and coworkers.
Additional amenities will include complimentary wireless Internet
throughout the hotel, a Bluetooth enabled TV system, and
ground-floor retail space.
Hyatt Centric South Beach will also be an active member of its
local community. Upon opening, guests will find an abstract
photography series in guest rooms and public spaces curated by Dina
Mitrani, a local Wynwood gallerist. Guests will also find local
brands featured throughout the hotel to provide travelers with an
authentic Miami experience.
Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami is set to open in April 2015,
and will be located at 1600 Collins Avenue.
