Slowly churning its way back toward the low $4 range which will be reason to consider a buy in for round 2.

Round 1 worked out pretty good here. Harsco has a good core set of businesses and I see no reason for it be trading in the $4 range for any length of time.

Yes, actually I did sing with you; it is not just manners on my part but sincerity that I wish the folks well who take the risks and follow their own analyses and judgments. The question - and for my own entertainment in my old age, I'll be following this Board - is whether you'll reappear should the stock test its recent lows (which I'm not predicting one way or the other).

Harsco has been fascinating to look at, going way back almost to when it was Harrisburg Steel Company, and it should remain interesting as it tries to dig itself out of its funk.

Another insider buy today

You obviously misread my intention with the initials.

I was thinking Big Short. but thats fine. I also find it interesting that there are hundreds of folks like yourself who "dont ever take positions in stocks but yet always manage to get onto message boards and play negative nellie.

Some folks actually get paid good money to do such things.

Here's the actual play at HSC. Feb 26 the company suspended a dividend based on the outlook for 2016. The share price dunked 39% in les than 2 hours in what is known as panic sell-off.

The company is still on solid ground and in fact released subsequent news of a $10 million contract to fence the airport in Mexico City. In addition, ifyou are nothing more than a chart player, this stock setup for what we refer to as teacup chart. The huge crash down forming 1 side of the teacup, the sideways trading forming the bowl and now the run up to build the other side of the cup.

Regardless of how you looked at HSC after the 27th of Feb it was a buy situation.

The stock is showing all signs of a recovery of at least 25% of the 39% it lost on the 26th.

The grab was in the 3.65-3.70 range, the recovery should put this in tje vicinity of 4.40-4.50 by the time it settles back in to a more normal looking stock chart.

2. As regards my first two initials, what was really cruel on my wife's and my part is that we named our first born son Brian Scott, thus perpetuating the opportunities for such fun.

I really have no intentions of buying or selling (short or long) any stock, as I'm old, retired, and have no need nor desire to speculate since the wife and I can live OK on what's coming in every month. But I enjoy following the markets and interacting with people who actually "have a pair" (not just of stocks), as I was a nonprofit CFO in my career and analyzing SEC filings and company press releases is a lot of fun for me, much like following the NFL.

4. I really do wish you well, as you've brought some laughter into my day. Your question as to whether anyone is in the stock for the long haul rather than playing for the bounce is fascinating - if you've got a well-placed sell order and stick to your discipline, you may do very well here.

What is going on with some of the energy stocks out there. Some up 200-300% in just the last week or two. Every day I keep telling myself they're to risky to get into at this point because they are due for correction and everyday they keep going up.

You actually have one more item going favorably for you, namely that there's an SEC filing linked on this very website that shows that the CEO just picked up on Monday 50K shares at $3.855 each. That's a lot of faith put in the company by someone who knows everything there is to know. ...and I think that might partly explain why the stock price has begun to rebound. Overall, the SEC filing says the CEO owns 175K shares.

For whatever little my opinion is worth, I would believe that the real money to be made in this stock will happen if and when the company can divest itself of its Metals and Minerals division. The Seeking Alpha report was not optimistic in that regard, but I think that the investment banker retained by the company is pretty damn good and likely will find a buyer.

I believe I owned a little of this stock a number of decades ago, and it's a little sad to see that split-adjusted it's where it was decades ago, maybe even a little lower.

Better than I. I bought at $4. We will see what tomorrow holds. Had my sale order in at $3.62, barely missed it. Looking for 10-15%, but will take break even at this point. I'll give it another day

The reason we are at 3.92

Harsco Corp. (NYSE: HSC) dropped nearly 39% on Friday to post a new 52-week low of $3.82 against a 52-week high of $18.00. The stock closed at $6.22 on Thursday night. Volume rose to around 5.6 million shares, nearly 8 times the stock’s daily average volume of around 760,000 The industrial firm suspended its dividend this morning and offered weak guidance for the new fiscal year.

Made a lot of people unhappy and they sold off. No dividend payment doesnt exactly reak of a reason to be confident in a stocks upward value but a drop of 39% is ridiculous and I expect a rebound of at least 15-18% here.

Been watching this one this week. Appears to want to form a classic teacup chart. down sharp, a settled bottom and then it should take a nice turn back up.

On the top of my watchlist for a Monday buyin. Watch to see if it continues sideways or starts to shift upward.
