Swedish engineering company Sandvik AB (SAND.SK) said Thursday its Mining unit has been awarded a materials handling contract in South America worth over SEK650 million from an undisclosed customer.

 
   MAIN FACTS:

-The deal will be recorded in 4Q.

-The contract will be executed and also contribute to Sandvik Mining's business for the years 2013 until 2015.

-The order includes engineering, manufacturing, freight and site services of conveying systems comprising relocatable and modularized type conveyors, for a surface mine.

-Shares closed Wednesday at SEK89.
