                    TRANSACTION IN OWN SECURITIES

On 18 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 82,000 GBP
shares at a range of prices from GBP 9.30 to GBP 9.40  (the
"Transaction")

On 18 September 2008, the Company purchased into treasury 241,000 EUR
shares at a range of prices from EUR 8.92 to EUR 8.98 (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
82,000 of its GBP issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued GBP shares of the Company to 25,070,585. (the
"Transaction")

The Board of the Company has resolved with immediate effect to cancel
241,000 of its EUR issued shares, thereby reducing the number of
outstanding issued EUR shares of the Company to 53,913,171. (the
"Transaction")

Following the Transaction, there are now in issue (to the exclusion
of those held in treasury) 48,850,276 EUR Shares, 36,994,260 US$
Shares and 22,665,045 GBP Shares.  The total number of shares held in
treasury are 5,062,895 EUR Shares, 1,949,395 US$ Shares and 2,405,540
GBP Shares.
