technology company, announced today that the United States Patent
and Trademark Office (USPTO) has terminated inter partes review
(IPR) of claims that resulted from petitions filed by Microsoft on
VirnetX's U.S. Patent Nos. 7,188,180, 7,418,504, 7,490,151, and
7,921,211. In terminating the proceedings, the USPTO
granted the joint motions to terminate filed by VirnetX and
Microsoft. The joint motions to terminate inter partes
reviews filed by Microsoft stems from a settlement agreement
between VirnetX and Microsoft on December
19, 2014.
