Netsmart Technologies Signs an $845,000 Contract With Southwest
Washington Regional Support Network Netsmart Will Extend its
Implementation of its Avatar Suite of Products for Behavioral
Health Organizations Across Additional Counties in Washington State
GREAT RIVER, N.Y., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Netsmart
Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTST), a leading supplier of
enterprise-wide software for health and human services providers
through its wholly owned subsidiary, Creative Socio-Medics Corp.
(CSM), today announced that CSM has been awarded a $845,000
five-year contract by the Southwest Washington Regional Support
Network (SWRSN) for the license and professional services of an
Application Service Provider (ASP) delivery system. Jerry Koop, CEO
of CSM commented, "The SWRSN win is significant for Creative in two
aspects: (1) it's additive to our successful large-scale account in
Washington state that is already operational in 20 human services
agencies and (2) it's validation of the success of Creative's
large-scale ASP rollout solution gaining traction in the
marketplace." According to Ron Blake, Director of Cowlitz County
and Southwest RSN, "Cowlitz County Human Services Department and
SWRSN is pleased to have Creative Socio-Medics as a partner for
providing a comprehensive information system solution to our Public
Mental Health program. We are excited about the Avatar system
because it will provide us with a technically advanced
comprehensive application with exceptional support. The already
completed integration of the Managed Service Organization, Practice
Management, Clinical Work Station and Master Patient Index modules,
and the ASP support capabilities were critical to the decision. We
are looking forward to a long and productive relationship." With
the addition of the SWRSN, the Washington State Rural Consortium
(WSRC) is now a group of 6 Regional Support Networks (RSN),
representing 30 human service agencies in 12 counties throughout
the state. WSRC was organized to research, purchase and implement
an agreed upon software product for all RSN's and agencies. Each
RSN, and each agency within an RSN, will maintain an individual
database for data collection, billing, utilization management, and
reporting. The RSN's are responsible for ensuring medically
necessary services for persons of all ages who are enrolled as
members of the prepaid health plan as defined in the state Medicaid
waiver. James Conway, Chairman and CEO of Netsmart, commented: "We
are confident that educated, process-oriented IT buyers are
deciding that a proven information system can have a major return
on investment. We believe that the Avatar suite of products'
ability to deliver on its performance promise and its effectiveness
upon delivery make it choice for providers looking for positive
effects on their service delivery systems and their bottomline."
