Depends on in what context?
The city pays for it on the free city ones(so if you think the tax payers are getting hit by that it's not even worth discussing). The cost of a business or building kilowatt is a fraction of what residential pay. Our building pays almost zero per kilowatt. It's crazy how cheap the rates are for municipal service as well. So for instance me charging at work may of cost $2 to our building electric bill for the year.

Child taken to hospital after Tesla crashes into Eagan preschool

Police say a 3-year-old child was taken to the hospital and two adults suffered minor injuries after a car crashed into a preschool Friday morning in Eagan.

According to the Eagan Police Department, the crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. at Eagan Montessori Academy on the 1900 block of Rahncliff Court.

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer captured broken glass scattered among children’s toys inside the preschool — the aftermath of a Tesla Model Y jumping the sidewalk and ramming through the front window.

A 42-year-old driver told police she hit the brakes but her car failed to stop, crashing into the building.
Sounds like typical SUA issue. Nice change of pace from all the veering accidents that occurred into the end of 2024.
Theres been limited solar/geomagnetic activity and thus few out of control Tesla accidents to close out the year. However while fewer Teslas have gone out of control like this one several have spontaneously combusted and over 23 major/regional airplanes have experienced malfunctions since the 23rd of December. So while surface magnetic activity appears to be reduced it appears theres been more magnetic acitivty at higher elevations to cause so many airplanes to glitch. More on that here:

Researcher Discovers Tesla Design Flaw That May Cause Unintended Acceleration; NHTSA Reopens Investigation
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has reopened its investigation into a potential design flaw in Tesla vehicles, which may lead to sudden unintended acceleration. This comes after allegations were made that a voltage spike deep within the control systems could cause the vehicle to incorrectly read an accelerator input, even when none has occurred.

When Voltage Spikes Trigger Unintended Acceleration
Under certain circumstances, such as slow driving, when the power steering requires more power, the draw on the 12-volt battery can cause a significant spike in the system. This voltage surge could lead the inverter to incorrectly conclude that the accelerator pedal has been pressed, resulting in unintended acceleration.

This unexpected acceleration could theoretically happen when a voltage spike, lasting only microseconds, occurs simultaneously as the car performs an ADC check, also lasting microseconds. Belt suggests that the frequency of these events aligns with the 200 or so incidents reported between 2013 and 2019.

Adding complexity to this issue, Belt contends that due to the nature of the fault, it does not get logged as an error. The inverter’s misinterpretation of a voltage spike as a throttle input leaves no trace, leading to discrepancies between Tesla's vehicle data and owners' accounts, possibly explaining why the ODI initially denied the petition.

While Belt's allegations primarily focus on the Model 3, which features a unique inverter design, he notes that similar errors could occur in Model S and Model X vehicles. This opens up the potential for a broader scope in the ongoing investigation.

NHTSA Petition Claims Tesla Sudden Unintended Acceleration Is Real

What's worse is that the incorrectly increased sensor signals will be sent via the CAN bus to the vehicle logs, causing Tesla and NHTSA to conclude that the driver caused the sudden increase in torque by stepping on the accelerator pedal. But in this case, the sudden acceleration was caused not by the driver stepping on the accelerator pedal but by a random superposition of a negative-going voltage spike (which is about 100 microseconds long), and the sampling time of the analog-to-digital converter (which is about 10 microseconds long). This random superposition explains the low occurrence rate of sudden acceleration in Tesla vehicles
SUA has impacted every main Tesla car model S/X, 3/Y, & even the Cybertruck. Im not aware of an incident involving a Semi...yet...although the one that drove into the trees with an engine fire may have experienced SUA.
As this issue has impacted just about every Tesla model and year, i doubt Dr Belt's theory in relation to the the origin of the fault, is exactly correct and certainly not easy to fix as its still a problem. Thus i expect the NHTSA will deny this petition at some point despite this issue continuing to plague Teslas. I believe the problem of SUA is EM interference induced which impacts other EVs as well per a study in China. EMI can cause these voltage spikes to compensate from a drop in voltage as described in the following quote. E3 usually pertains to EM blast from a nuclear explosion but during geostorms/unrest this same sort of voltage depression can be observed in electrical systems.

E3 can also affect subtransmission and distribution systems by causing harmonic distortion and voltage depression. The voltage regulators at the substation will attempt to correct for low voltage levels on distribution circuits. This attempt can result in overvoltages when the E3 stimulus decays to a low value

Part 2 - Proof Electromagnetic radiation is causing EVs to go out of control
4). Among the data records during the accidents according to the background data of the crashed vehicles or the data of on-vehicle terminals, the position values of most accelerator pedals were very high(99%) while the values of brake pedals were 0% or only non-zero in very limited moments (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2).
Continued very high accelerator pressure with no braking is how you differentiate SUA from pedal misapplication.

In  recent  years,  there  have  been  numerous  out-of-control  accidents  of  electric  vehicles.
Occasional fault of electronic control unit caused by  electromagnetic interference
External  electromagnetic  interference  refers  to  that  caused  by electromagnetic  radiation  of  various  electrical  facilities  including  the  high  voltage  transmission  line, broadcasting  TV  devices  and  radio  communication  equipment  as  well  as  natural  phenomena  such  as lightning.

Electromagnetic  wave  interferes  the  electric  control  system  of  automobile  through  wiring  harness and  car  body to  make  it  hard  to  perform  or  even  send  wrong  instructions leading  to  wrong  actions  of various  actuators,  affecting  the  safety,  reliability  and  stability  of  automobile  driving.  The electromagnetic  interference  affects  the  automobile  electronic  control  system  mainly  in  two  ways:  one is  to  affect  the  input  signal  of  the  sensor  of  the  electronic  control  system,  causing  distortion  and resulting  in  electric  control  signal  where  the  ECU  output  does  not  match  the  driver's  intention,  which leads  to  the  wrong  operation  of  the  actuator;  the  other  is  to  interfere  the  ECU  output  signal  to  result  in its deviation,  misleading the operation of  the actuator.

The most common cause of Natural EMI includes:

Lightning

Solar Magnetic Storms

Earth’s Magnetic Field Flux

Cosmic Radiation

The following collection of accidents will show that Teslas have a sudden veering problem, a problem thats being covered up, in addition to issues of Sudden Unintended Acceleration. These accidents occur regardless of the Teslas being operated by intoxicated drivers, regular drivers, professional drivers, Autopilot, or FSD.
This collection was put together to showcase the core problem is actually hardware related not driver/software. When nearly the same crash elements occurs across a diverse collection of use cases regardless of model & year, the only logical conclusion is that there is something wrong with the vehicles themselves and that they pose a significant danger to society. As I already hinted at, there is a newish investigation that indicates that Tesla & NHTSA are purposefully withholding information in regards various AP related accidents including these veering Teslas that works to hide such dangers from becoming more apparent...so people do not catch onto this pattern! I post the link to the article at the end of this section of the post.

Both FSD cases, 1 professional driver case, 4 regular driver cases, & 1 intoxicated driver case, the Teslas slammed into a tree resulting in the death of at least 1 person. 1 autopilot case the Tesla veered off the road and rolled into a tree. 2 Autopilot cases suddenly veered into the median. 2 regular driver incidents involved locked steering. It appears as though the Semi suffered some sort of electrical issue causing an engine to catch fire and it veer off the interstate into trees. The Cybertruck incident also involved locked steering but included sudden unintended acceleration.

New Investigation Suggests Tesla And NHTSA Withheld Info Surrounding Autopilot Crashes

Section 5- The computer errors from outer space
(Elon Musk: Model S not a car but a ‘sophisticated computer on wheels’)

When computers go wrong, we tend to assume it's just some software hiccup, a bit of bad programming. But ionising radiation, including rays of protons blasted towards us by the sun, can also be the cause. These incidents, called single-event upsets, are rare and it can be impossible to be sure that cosmic rays were involved in a specific malfunction because they leave no trace behind them.

And yet they have been singled out as the possible culprits behind numerous extraordinary cases of computer failure. From a vote-counting machine that added thousands of non-existent votes to a candidate's tally, to a commercial airliner that suddenly dropped hundreds of feet mid-flight, injuring dozens of passengers
Plus, since giant ejections from the sun can sometimes send huge waves of particles towards Earth, what's called space weather, an unnerving prospect looms: we could see much more disruption to computers than we're used to during a massive geomagnetic storm in the future

Tesla (TSLA) Weekly Analysis
By: Peter DiCarlo | January 12, 2025

• Tesla Weekly - TSLA isn't on our watchlist, but I'm covering it since many in our community hold shares. I've toned down my aggressive approach from a few weeks ago and shifted to selling cash-secured puts. The reason is that the weekly BX trend is still green, indicating growth, yet it's showing higher lows.

If Tesla's daily chart starts showing signs of a higher low and flips to green, we might witness the next upward move. However, I'm preparing for the possibility of another drop to $350 in the next few weeks as a worst-case scenario. This would allow TSLA some time to stabilize before earnings. After that, we might be looking at the bottom.

After 6 years of owning a model 3 my gas savings is averaging $1900 a year. My battery is no longer charging to full mileage for sure, but that translates to 1 or 2 more charging cycles a month(no more cost). If the battery stays on pace for capacity shrinkage/loss, I would predict it might only be able to charge 3/4 of the original capacity around its 10 year old anniversary. Some articles say that in 4 years I'll be able to get a bigger and better battery replacement for like $3k. It's been a great experience, I'm thankful for a car that is very reliable.

Hutchison Effect, Teslas Whompy Wheel Issue, & 911

https://i.imgur.com/IlIJqgq.jpeg

Collection of 200+ images of Tesla cars that suffered a severe suspension malfunction, i.e. one of their wheels became dislodged due to manufacturing defects.
I doubt this is the result of manufacturing defect as this person thinks. My theory is the Hutchison Effect (the fracturing of metal due to multiple sources of EM radiation) is causing the severe suspension issues. I believe that Teslas motors are a significant source of the EM radiation contributing to this phenomenon. However, the Hutchison Effect requires multiple sources of EM radiation to combine, one of which is comes from surface EMF during enhanced geomagnetic activity, to cause metal fracturing like what's being seen in Teslas.

Material analysis of Hutchison Effect:

Proof that science behind the Hutchison Effect is classified in at least Canada:

My work has been classified as a matter of National Security by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service
the spontaneous fracturing of metals;

changes in the crystalline structure and physical properties of metals;

fusion of dissimilar materials such as metal and wood, while lacking any displacement;

the anomalous heating of metals without burning adjacent material;

https://www.drjudywood.com/pdf/AffJHutchison4.pdf

========================================

List of Hutchison Effect Phenomenon observed:

There are several modes of metal disruption that were part of the Hutchison Effect
including:
1. Heating. The sample, typically ferrous, may be brought to incandescence with small
sparks flying from it but no heating effects are seen on the plywood board on which
it is placed. No electrical connections are attached nor are there nearby high-power
RF heater coils. Small coins of copper and nickel adjacent to the sample are
unaffected.
2. “Jelly Metal”. The sample, usually a cast aluminum bar, is seen to quiver as if made
of jelly. On occasion, drops of what appear to be molten aluminum are seen to fall
from the sample. The sample is on paper or cardboard which shows no sign of
sensible heat. In one case, a common steel cutlery knife which had lain on top of an
aluminum flat bar was found to have literally sunk several millimeters into the
aluminum bar. The knife appeared not to have been affected.
3. Delamination. The sample, usually an extruded aluminum bar, opens up either at
the end or in the middle into uncountable small fibres, the lines of delamination
appearing to be along planes parallel to the extrusion direction. In many aluminum
bars, the delamination occurs at the centre and the bar is literally pulled apart into
two pieces. Here it appears as if the metal was grasped at the ends and pulled apart
by a tremendous force resulting in severe delamination into fibres. No evidence of
grips which would be necessary to pull the metal apart can be found.
4. Clean Fractures. Some samples, notably steels, simply fracture apart either in
directions parallel to their long axis or at other angles. Steel samples such as flat files
have fractured in several places and the resulting faces are magnetized. However
adjoining faces are magnetized such that they repel each other. Normally, fracturing
of bar magnets results in adjoining faces attracting.
5. Severe Deformation. In ferrous or non-ferrous samples, typically bars or rods, the
MUT is twisted into bizarre shapes as if the metal was in a completely plastic state.
No heating effects are seen on the surface or interior of the MUT, nor are grip marks
which would indicate a forced deformation. In some cases the MUT is bent into a
completely tight U-shape with no attendant flattening or bulging at the bend.
6. Pitting. Pitting, gouging or other small-volume metal removal occurs typically in
ferrous MUT either at the one or both ends or at the middle of a bar or rod. In some
cases, the case-hardening of a case-hardened shaft has been “blown off” into a
powder revealing the softer steel underneath.
7. Crumbling. Approx. 6 mm of the end of a large (eg 52 mm diameter) steel shaft
crumbled like a cookie into small (~ mm across) crumbs and dust while lying on a
wooden board. Later examination of the board revealed no evidence of heat but a 2-3
mm indentation in the shape of the shaft.
8. “De-Alloying”. Typical commercial aluminum alloys have fairly well-distributed
alloying elements (eg Cu, Mg, Si, Fe). Upon being placed in the “field”, SEM/EDX
and electron microprobe analysis reveals blobs of pure elements situated along
fracture lines, apparently coming out of solid solution (Figure 7). In the case of
ferrous MUTs, at locations of severe deformation visible patches of copper appear.

Jain is one of tens of thousands of Tesla owners who have experienced premature failures of suspension or steering parts, according to a Reuters review of thousands of Tesla documents. The chronic failures, many in relatively new vehicles, date back at least seven years and stretch across Tesla’s model lineup and across the globe, from China to the United States to Europe, according to the records and interviews with more than 20 customers and nine former Tesla managers or service technicians.

The exact cause of the Hutchison Effect is unknown in public spheres as it is classified under national security. However the most likely culprit seems to be a combination of electromagnetic sources coming together in a way to change the makeup of metals leading to their rusting, softening, fracturing, complete breaking, even dustification. Keep in mind the degree of metal materials that are within our buildings and infrastructure...even in concrete. Maybe this is why we are seeing an increase in building and bridge collapses?

Tesla Has the Highest Fatal Accident Rate of All Auto Brands - Who could have predicted this?
Tesla vehicles suffer fatal accidents at a rate that's twice the industry average, according to a new report.

Tesla's vehicles have the highest fatal accident rate among all car brands in America, according to a recent iSeeCars study that analyzed data from the U.S. Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS).

The study was conducted on model year 2018–2022 vehicles, and focused on crashes between 2017 and 2022 that resulted in occupant fatalities. Tesla vehicles have a fatal crash rate of 5.6 per billion miles driven, according to the study; Kia is second with a rate of 5.5, and Buick rounds out the top three with a 4.8 rate. The average fatal crash rate for all cars in the United States is 2.8 per billion vehicle miles driven.
The Tesla Model S has a rate more than double than average, at 5.8 per billion vehicle miles driven; meanwhile, the Tesla Model Y — the best-selling vehicle in the world has a fatal crash rate of 10.6, nearly four times the average. It ranked as the sixth worst vehicle overall. (The Hyundai Venue took the top spot overall, with a fatal crash rate of 13.9.)
So...in addition to having the highest accident rate, despite many accolades of the safest vehicle to get into an accident in, Tesla brand has the highest death rate of any brand in America. Its like there is something inherently wrong with Teslas and particularly EVs. The reason why Tesla has so many more fatalities than any other EV maker is because there are soooo many more of them on the roads at any given moment for them to be exposed to EM radiation leading to glitching. The more EVs on the roads the greater the probability of them suffering EM interference and going out of control leading to the highest accident and death rate for Tesla. EVs need to be banned and I suspect the elimination of the tax credit is a step toward that end.

Tesla Drivers Have the Highest Crash Rate of Any Brand: Study
Tesla led all automakers with 23.54 crashes per 1,000 drivers in the past year.

Section 3 - The computer errors from outer space

Plus, since giant ejections from the sun can sometimes send huge waves of particles towards Earth, what's called space weather, an unnerving prospect looms: we could see much more disruption to computers than we're used to during a massive geomagnetic storm in the future
https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20221011-how-space-weather-causes-computer-errors

========================================

Section 4 - Superseding and/or Intervening Force

Tesla argues it had no control in the crash and death which were "caused by a superseding and/or intervening force."
There you have it folks Tesla admits an outside force caused this Tesla to glitch and go out of control. That is true, its not Teslas fault, per se, that its vehicles go out of control. Its the destabilized electromagnetic environment we are experiencing as a result of the earths continued weakening of its magnetic field. While I do not disagree that this is an outside force causing its vehicles to go out of control, its precisely why computers on wheels (Teslas/EVs/computerized ICE) should not be on the roads. Because these vehicles will continue to go out of control and with more frequency putting the greater public in danger. EVs will continue to destroy lives whether through killing those involved, created long-term psychological damage, or leading to the incarceration of people who did nothing wrong other than drive an EV.
Also as Tesla is aware of the problem and does not warn the public its liable for everyone of its vehicles going out of control!

Tesla Model S and Model X owners affected by the ongoing wildfires in CA are thanking the electric car maker once more for their vehicles’ Bioweapon Defense Mode, which allows passengers to breathe clean air inside the cabin despite hazardous air conditions outside.

The state of CA is currently experiencing several blazes. In Southern CA alone, authorities from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department have confirmed that the Sandalwood Fire in Calimesa has taken the lives of two individuals, an 89-year-old woman in a mobile home and another person that is yet to be identified.

The Sandalwood Fire, which has so far burned 820 acres and was at least 25% contained as of Saturday, is only one of several blazes in the state. The Saddleridge Fire, currently the largest in the state, has burned more than 7,500 acres and destroyed around 31 homes. Amidst these blazes, the South Coast Air Quality Management District has urged residents to protect themselves from heavy smoke and dangerous air conditions.
