ATLANTA, Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Blackstone Winery
announced the national fundraising and awareness campaign, Corks
Against Cancer. The campaign will benefit the Rally Foundation
who helps support and raise funds for childhood cancer research, in
the hope of uncovering better treatments, with fewer long-term side
effects and, ultimately, cures.
The nationwide campaign is localized in nature and will run in
different intervals throughout the country between the months of
September to December, and provide consumers the opportunity to
donate to Rally through the purchase of Blackstone wine. Blackstone
will donate $1.00 from every bottle
purchased to Rally, and will provide distinctive signage, posters,
flyers, and other point of sale material to help increase purchases
and generate donations.
"Rally is honored to be partnering with Blackstone Winery. It is
great to have corporations come alongside to help promote our
mission," said Dean Crowe, Founder
and CEO of Rally. "Rally strives to increase awareness across the
country of the funding deficit for childhood cancer research."
In certain parts of the country, Corks Against Cancer
will take place during the months of September, which is the
national Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.. The objective of
Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is to spotlight childhood cancer,
the need for more research funding, and survivorship issues.
Blackstone Winery and Rally will use Corks Against Cancer to
highlight the month and bring increased awareness and funds to the
cause. Nationally, Blackstone Winery will donate up to
$150,000 to Rally.
"We are proud to be working with Rally on such an important
cause," said Chief Marketing Officer of Constellation Brands,
Chris Fehrnstrom. "We have seen the
difference Rally is making and want the nation to join with us to
help support Rally in its mission to find a cure for childhood
cancer."
For every dollar Rally receives, 93
cents goes to support childhood cancer research, according
to independently audited financials. In just five years, Rally has
awarded more than $2.2 million in
childhood cancer research grants supporting 50 projects across the
country.
