MILAN--Italy's Telecom Italia said Sunday that it received a
request from stakeholder French Vivendi to name four
representatives to the Italian firm's board.
The request comes as Telecom Italia has called for a
shareholders' meeting on Dec.15 to approve a share conversion
plan.
Vivendi, which holds a 20% stake in Telecom Italia, has
requested to put to the shareholders's vote the expansion of
Telecom Italia's board from 13 to 17 members.
The four representatives proposed by Vivendi are Arnaud Roy de
Puyfontaine, Vivendi's chief executive; Stephane Roussel, the
company's chief operating officer; Hervé Philippe, its chief
financial officer; and Felicité Herzog.
If appointed, the new board members will be in charge until Dec.
2016, when the rest of the board will also end its mandate.
