--German insurers Munich Re AG and Allianz SE have renewed cover for the Nord Stream 1 natural-gas pipeline, which is 51%-owned by Russian state-owned energy company Gazprom PJSC and was damaged in September after alleged sabotage, Reuters reports, citing unnamed sources.

--The insurance policy covers damage to the pipeline and business-interruption issues, and would facilitate potential repairs to resume gas deliveries, according to Reuters.

--The German government didn't oppose the move despite its public stance of cutting ties with Russia, Reuters reports, citing one of the sources.
