The  Board  of  Genesis Malaysia Maju Fund Limited announces it has  today  been
informed  by  Hermes Administration Services of the following  interest  in  the
Companys shares:

Britel Fund Nominees  Ltd      230,659 shares representing 15.165% of the issued
                               share capital

Possfund Nominees Ltd          104,632 shares representing 6.879% of the issued share
                               capital

TOTAL                          335,291  shares  representing 22.044% of  the  issued  share
                               capital
