Logic, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: LWLG), a technology company
focused on the development of a Next Generation Non Linear
Optical Polymer Materials Platform for applications in high
speed fiber-optic tele- and data communications, announced
Fred J. Leonberger will serve as a
senior advisor to the company beginning immediately.
Dr. Leonberger previously served as senior vice president and
chief technology officer of JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU),
a leading optical components company, from 1999 until his
retirement in June 2003 where he was
responsible for strategic technology and was closely involved with
mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property
activities. Prior to JDSU, he was co-founder and general
manager of United Technologies Photonics (UTP), a high-speed
optical modulator company, and held research management positions
at United Technologies Research Center
(UTRC) and MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He has more
than 15 patents, 40 archival publications and 125 meeting
presentations in the areas of opto-electronic devices and their
applications in communications, sensing and signal processing.
Leonberger is currently the principal of EOvation Advisors
LLC, a technology and business advisory firm that he founded in
2003. He serves on the Board of Directors of several
venture-funded photonics companies and has been a senior advisor at
the MIT Center for Integrated Photonic Systems.
He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a fellow
of OSA and IEEE and has been awarded the IEEE Quantum Electronics
Award, Photonics Award and Millennium Medal. He has also served as
Chairman of a number of photonics conferences.
