MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Sept. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Next
Galaxy Corp. (OTCBB: NXGA), a leading developer of innovative
content solutions and fully immersive Consumer Virtual
Reality technology, is pleased to announce that the Company
has entered into agreement with legendary college basketball coach
Jim Boeheim to produce a Virtual
Reality (VR) experience. Per the agreement, Coach Boeheim is
opening the doors to his personal basketball court exclusively to
Next Galaxy to participate in a unique, fully-immersive experience
designed to be viewed through the Oculus Rift or other head mounted
VR devices. The audio for the experience will be created using
omnidirectional sound customized for listening through Ceekars™,
Next Galaxy's first-in-class VR audio headset.
"I believe that the development of Next Galaxy's Virtual Reality
technology will soon change the way sports fans enjoy the game.
With cutting-edge technologies like the Oculus Rift complemented by
the Ceekars™ VR audio, people will no longer 'watch' their favorite
teams, they will 'experience' the game as if they were actually at
the event," commented Jim Boeheim.
"I eagerly look forward to creating the VR experience, and thrilled
to be featured in a production utilizing this rapidly emerging
technology."
"We are delighted that The Barrett Edge could facilitate
this milestone agreement with Coach Boeheim, a world class
sports icon and philanthropist," said Barrett D. Ehrlich, Founder and Managing
Director of The Barrett Edge, and strategic consultant to the
company. "Sports is a cornerstone in Next Galaxy's VR content hub
- Ceek, and we couldn't ask for much more than Coach
Boeheim."
Next Galaxy is in discussions with other high profile
personalities and teams for additional sports experiences. The
Coach Boeheim experience kicks off the exciting sports lineup in
the plans for CEEK.
Jim Boeheim has been the head
coach of Syracuse University's men's basketball team
since 1976. During that time, Coach Boeheim has amassed 948
wins, placing him second all-time on the wins list of men's NCAA
