Premium-car maker Mercedes-Benz AG expects the global
semiconductor shortage to affect sales in the next two quarters,
after saying the supply squeeze restricted deliveries in the second
quarter.
The German auto brand, which is owned by Daimler AG, said
Tuesday that the shortage had affected deliveries in particular in
the month of June. Nevertheless, Mercedes-Benz AG said it had
"robust global demand and a healthy order intake" in the
three-month period.
Global retail sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars were up 28% on year
to 591,725 vehicles in the second quarter.
