BUFFALO, N.Y., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Highlights: Ecology and Environment, Inc. (E & E) through the US Army Corps of Engineers will be tasked to provide support to EPA's Hurricane Katrina emergency response effort. Though details are not immediately available, the agency indicated they may need as many as 40 people for 6 months. The work will include assistance for the collection, management and disposal of hazardous waste and the retrieval of and recovery of orphaned drums. On the state side, the Louisiana Governor's office has indicated it will hire E & E to develop a donated goods management system similar to the system that was developed for the New York City, Office of Emergency Management.
