Ocean Tomo, LLC, the Chicago-based provider of diversified intellectual property-related services, today announced that it will host a Town Hall Meeting to discuss plans for the Nation�s first physical marketplace dedicated to Intellectual Property (�IP�). The IP Enterprise Zone (the �Zone�) and IP Exchange Chicago (�IPX Chicago�) Town Hall Meeting will be held at the Swissotel Chicago on Thursday, April 19th from 10:00am � 12:00pm. Created in cooperation with the Chicago Chamber of Commerce, the City of Chicago, and the State of Illinois, the Zone will be the Nation�s first marketplace dedicated to technology licensing and other forms of IP monetization. The goal of the Zone is to create an efficient marketplace for IP-based transactions through the co-location of IP deal makers and transaction experts. The Zone is scheduled to open during the summer of 2008 and will facilitate technology transfer through a physical co-location of technology buyers, sellers, licensors and licensees as well as an IP exchange. Within the Zone, IPX Chicago is planned as the world�s first securities exchange with an IP focus. IPX Chicago will enable investor and company participation in a broad spectrum of IP-related financial products such as qualified equity listing/co-listing; IP-related indexes, futures and options; IP-backed bonds and securitizations; patent-rich company IPOs; and, new IP-based exchange-traded products. All participants within the developing IP marketplace are encouraged to provide input into the development of this project.
