Hutchison Telecommunications (Australia) Ltd. (HTA.AU) said Tuesday that it swung to a first half net profit of A$552.0 million, boosted by the sale of its "3" business into a new joint venture with Vodafone Australia.

In a statement, the group said its loss for the year, excluding the A$587.3 million profit on the sale, was A$35.3 million, compared to a net loss of A$85.4 million a year earlier.

Revenue for the six months to June 30 rose 19.4% to A$912.5 million from a year earlier.

The group didn't declare an interim dividend.
