Engineered Support Receives Additional MSTAR System Sales ST.
LOUIS, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Engineered Support Systems,
Inc. (NASDAQ:EASI) announced the sale of an additional 13
Manportable Surveillance and Target Acquisition Radars (MSTAR) to
various domestic customers. These versatile MSTAR radars will be
utilized for wide-area ground surveillance in beyond-the-perimeter
security applications. The AN/PPS-5C MSTAR is ideally suited for a
deployable perimeter security application or as part of an
integrated security system for force protection, border
surveillance and asset protection. Over 850 MSTAR radars, in
various configurations, are in service throughout the world,
according to Gerald A. Potthoff, Vice Chairman, CEO and President
of Engineered Support. Potthoff commented, "We are delighted for

low power, very low probability of intercept (LPI) ground
surveillance radar. MSTAR provides wide area surveillance coverage
in all weather conditions, night or day, to a maximum range of 25

placed into action in less than three minutes. The simple to
operate Windows(TM) Man Machine Interface (MMI) allows rapid self
location and surveillance area set up while providing sophisticated
interface support features such as network and wireless control.
MSTAR locates moving targets and uniquely classifies them as
personnel, tracked or wheeled vehicle. MSTAR can also meet various
homeland defense and security missions where intrusion detection,
border surveillance and perimeter security are needed; providing
critical protection for power generation facilities, airports,
testing ranges, dams and other critical infrastructure assets.
