FTN Financial Deploys Portfolio Management Applications for Institutional Investors via Plumtree Enterprise Web Suite Plumtree's Enterprise Web Development Kit (EDK) Speeds Development of Service-Oriented Applications SAN FRANCISCO, Plumtree Advanced Developer Conference, May 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Enterprise Web leader Plumtree Software today announced that FTN Financial has deployed advanced portfolio management applications for use by its 3,500 investment accounts worldwide including banks, credit unions and other financial institutions. FTN Financial selected the Plumtree Enterprise Web Suite for building service-oriented applications that give customers real-time views of their personal portfolio and investment performance, as well as analytic research tools and performance calculators to help them make better investment decisions. Using Plumtree's EDK, FTN Financial was also able to reuse development components across its portfolio management applications, empowering FTN Financial to meet its aggressive deployment timeline of five months. FTN Financial Employs Plumtree's EDK to Build Rich, Personalized Applications To build several of its custom portfolio management applications, developers at FTN Financial used Plumtree's EDK, including: -- Plumtree Profile Web Services to import user data from Active Directory and a SQL server so that when users log on, they are presented with a personalized application page based on their profile data; -- Plumtree Event Interface (PEI) that changes users' experiences after a specific event, for example, when users log off, they are taken to a branded FTN Financial site, instead of the usual log-off screen; -- Plumtree Content Server to incorporate searchable information from diverse research sources; and -- Pluggable Navigation to give customers a branded site, while still allowing for easy upgrade to future versions of the Plumtree Enterprise Web Suite. Before selecting Plumtree, FTN Financial had a traditional menu-driven customer Web site with limited text-based performance reports and research articles that were sometimes difficult to find.
