Symmetricom®, Inc. (NASDAQ:SYMM), a worldwide leader in precision time and frequency technologies, announced that it has expanded its SyncWorld™ Ecosystem Program to include Communications Test and Measurement solutions. Anue Systems, Calnex, Chronos, EXFO, Ixia, and JDSU are the first members to join this segment.

The new Communications Test and Measurement segment of the SyncWorld Ecosystem Program was developed to support service providers and network equipment manufacturer’s in pre-deployment scenarios and on-going live network test and validation to ensure optimal synchronization performance. As networks continue to evolve from TDM to Ethernet, test and measurement devices are essential to verify performance and monitor traffic.

“Communications test and measurement devices are essential for testing network performance to ensure precise delivery of timing and synchronization and meet standards requirements,” said Manish Gupta, vice president of marketing at Symmetricom. “We will continue to enhance the SyncWorld Ecosystem Program to expand and build alliances with industry partners and to address issues important to our mutual end synchronization customers.”

Launched in March 2011, the SyncWorld Ecosystem Program supports interoperability and promotes a standards-based approach to support precise timing and synchronization requirements for communications networks. The six new member companies join the growing list of organizations which are already a part of the SyncWorld Ecosystem Program including: Alcatel-Lucent, Aviat, Brocade, Ciena, Cisco, Extreme Networks, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), PMC-Sierra, RAD Data Communications, and Telco Systems. Membership requires interoperability testing between Symmetricom and the program members to ensure delivery of precise timing and synchronization services across the network.
