Toyota Recognizes Visteon Automotive Systems India with Two Awards DEARBORN, Mich., May 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Visteon Corporation was honored recently with two awards at the annual Toyota Supplier Conference in Bangalore, India. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20001201/DEF008LOGO ) Toyota Kirloskar Motors recognized Visteon Automotive Systems India Private Limited (VASI) for Zero PPM (parts per million defective) during 2003 for shipment of Toyota Corolla bumpers for assembly to Toyota Manufacturing in Asia Pacific. VASI also was recognized with the Best Quality Supplier Award, which is awarded to the supplier that achieves the highest overall score in several different quality categories. Brian Tait, managing director of Visteon India, accepted the awards on behalf of VASI. "It is very gratifying to be recognized by an important customer for our quality performance at VASI," Tait said. "We consistently compile and retain customer metrics, as well as conduct customer surveys to gauge our performance, but when the customer recognizes the efforts of the entire team here at VASI, we know that we have accomplished our quality objectives." The manufacturing facility, located in Chennai, has approximately 700 employees and produces air conditioning systems, radiators, instrument clusters, instrument panels, bumpers, interior and exterior plastics, air conditioning hoses and condensers. These recent awards complement two other awards from Toyota for which Visteon was recognized earlier this year. Visteon received two prestigious quality awards at the Toyota Motor Europe Manufacturing supplier awards ceremonies in Brussels, Belgium. Toyota Motor Europe Manufacturing honored Visteon with the "Achievement Award" for quality delivery of the passive anti-theft system amplifier transponder, which is produced at Visteon's Cadiz Plant in Spain. This is the third consecutive year that Visteon's facility in Cadiz has been recognized for its quality. In addition, Visteon's Gondecourt and Bellignat facilities in France were honored for providing quality interior trim.
