08 March 2018 - 8:05AM
Service Corporation International (NYSE:SCI), North America’s
largest provider of funeral and cemetery services, announced today
it has been certified as a great workplace by the independent
analysts at Great Place to Work®. SCI earned this credential based
on extensive ratings by its employees in anonymous surveys.
“We are honored to receive this recognition as it’s truly an
acknowledgement of the talented associates in our organization
dedicated to serving our client families every day,” said Phil
Sprick, Vice President of Human Resources at SCI. “We strive to
create a culture that promotes growth, leadership and teamwork
while continuing to honor and maintain service excellence for the
families and communities we serve.”
The survey, sent to a random selection of SCI’s over 24,000
associates, was anchored by 90 percent responding "My work has
special meaning: this is not 'just a job'", 86 percent saying, “I’m
proud to tell others I work here” and 86 percent replying, “I feel
I make a difference here.”
“We applaud SCI for seeking employee feedback and earning this
certification,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, vice president of Great
Place to Work Certification and List Production. “These ratings
measure the company’s capacity to earn its own employees’ trust and
create a culture that benefits both associates and the clients they
serve.”
