DTE Energy Web Sites Get Facelift

PR Newswire (US)
DETROIT, March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy has re-designed its
two most popular websites to improve navigation and customer
functionality, and to better illustrate the company's full line of
businesses and services. DTE Energy Web sites log over five million
visits annually. The company has updated its primary Web site --
http://dteenergy.com/ -- which serves as the main gateway to DTE
Energy's utility and non-utility business Web sites, and also
provides information on corporate governance, investor relations,
environmental activities, community involvement, career
opportunities and company news. Also getting a facelift is
http://my.dteenergy.com/ -- the Web site for customers of Detroit
Edison and MichCon, DTE Energy's electric and gas utilities. While
anyone can access this site for general service and billing
information, registered users can pay their utility bills on-line,
report meter readings, turn on, transfer or disconnect service, and
report electrical outages. Almost a half-million customers are
registered on http://my.dteenergy.com/. "More and more of our
customers rely on DTE Energy's Web sites to conduct day-to-day
business, get answers to questions and learn more about our energy-
related companies," said Michael C. Porter, DTE Energy's
vice-president of corporate communications. "The improvements we
have implemented will make it faster, easier and more convenient
for customers whose primary contact with us is online." The new
designs were developed after a careful review of customer feedback,
data analysis from online surveys and benchmarking of other utility
and non-utility Web sites. Improvements include the addition of
drop-down navigation to provide one-click access to deeper levels
of site content, a convenient sign-in box for registered utility
customers on the corporate home page, and new monthly promotions
that will highlight company news and initiatives. DTE Energy also
recently revamped its Web site for children, http://dtekids.com/ .
Geared for students in third through seventh grade,
http://dtekids.com/ contains information on electricity and natural
gas, and includes interactive features and animated games.
