DTE Energy has historically collected payments in the field from customers who are facing possible disconnection of their utility service. The company has discontinued the practice to provide a safer and more secure payment environment for customers and employees. Detroit Edison and MichCon customers should not make payments to anyone who comes to their home or business claiming to be from DTE Energy. Customers who have any questions or concerns related to bill payments or collections should contact DTE Energy.
