BASF SE (BAS.XE) said Tuesday it will invest 15 million euros
($17.5 million) in increasing production capacity for
aluminum-based effect pigments.
The company said it will expand production at its Ludwigshafen
and Besigheim sites by about 30% in reponse to growing global
demand for pigments, particularly in the area of automotive
coatings.
Effect pigments are additives for paints and coatings that allow
users to create different color and texture effects, BASF said.
