09 March 2012 - 11:22PM
Dow Jones News
Airbus said Friday it delivered 84 aircraft and booked 91 net
orders in the first two months of 2012.
The plane manufacturer delivered 47 aircraft in February, but
didn't register any net orders for the month as Hong Kong-based
Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd. (0293.HK) took over an order previously
made by Kuwaiti aircraft-leasing company Aviation Lease &
Finance Co. (ALAFCO.KW) for six A350-900 jets.
Airbus is a unit of European Aeronautic Defence & Space Co.
NV (EAD.FR).
The Franco-German aero-defense giant Thursday said net profit
for the three months ended Dec. 31 rose to EUR612 million from
EUR355 million a year earlier, surpassing analysts' expectations,
mainly due to a foreign exchange gain. It said its order book is
currently worth more than EUR500 billion.
