Million Medium Term Note Offering
TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2001-- The Thomson Corporation
(TSE:TOC) announced today that it has agreed to issue Cdn. $400
million of 6.85% Medium Term Notes due June 1, 2011. The syndicate for
the offering will include RBC Dominion Securities Inc., BMO Nesbitt
Burns Inc., CIBC World Markets Inc., TD Securities Inc., and Scotia
Capital Inc.
The Medium Term Notes will bear interest at 6.85% per annum,
payable semi-annually on June 1 and December 1 commencing June 1,
2001. The Medium Term Notes will be direct unsecured obligations of
The Thomson Corporation. Proceeds of the offering will be used for
general corporate purposes, including repayment of bank and other
indebtedness. The offering is expected to close on April 23, 2001.
