TBI PLC - NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTERESTS IN SHARES

After sending Mr Thomas' accountant a copy of the letter to the Stock Exchange
dated the 16th March, they pointed out to me that a letter was sent to me on the
7th July 1997 stating that a transfer of 25,000 shares in the company would be
made to an unconnected party on the 8th July 1997.  Such a letter appears never
to have been received.  As you will appreciate, in the context of Mr Thomas'
holding, the share transfer is purely de minimis.  However, it seems to me that
the records need to be absolutely perfect and thus I herewith send a
Notification of Major Interests in Shares Form showing the absolute up to date
position.
