BMR Mining PLC ("BMR")
BMR's Kabwe treatment project
BMR Mining PLC, the Zambian-focused mineral processing business,
is pleased to report to shareholders the principal conclusion of a
Peer Review of its Kabwe treatment project, first announced on 19
August 2015, and to provide a general update on the project.
BMR engaged the services of Tony Francis BSc Eng. Metallurgy,
ARSM, FIMMM, CEng of Francis Minerals Consulting Limited to
undertake a Peer Review of the Company's proposed processing
methodology for producing lead and zinc from the Kabwe tailings.
Mr. Francis visited BMR's Kabwe operation between 27 and 31 August
2015.
The Board is pleased to report that the Peer Review confirmed
the suitability of BMR's acid/brine leach process for the recovery
of these metals. BMR is currently finalising both its processing
plans, which will be submitted to ZEMA in the near future, and its
costings of the Pilot Plant. The start date for the Pilot Plant
will be determined following the receipt of ZEMA approval.
BMR plans that the treatment rate for the Pilot Plant will be a
minimum of 5 tonnes per hour. It intends that the Pilot Plant will
be operated on a 24/7 basis, initially processing the Wash Plant
Tailings.
The principal objective of the Pilot Plant will be to finalise
the design parameters of the proposed Main Plant, which the
Directors plan to come into operation in 2016, to enable it to
process different combinations of tailings. Nevertheless, BMR's
intention is to operate the Pilot Plant as a semi-production unit
to simulate actual operating conditions, thereby enabling the
Company to generate revenues from sales of the end product.
Alex Borrelli, Executive Chairman of BMR, commented: "We are
delighted to report that the Peer Review has confirmed the
suitability of our proposed methodology for the processing of the
tailings, which will be applied initially to the Wash Plant
Tailings once we secure ZEMA approval."
