Chloride Group PLC ("Chloride") has today received notification from M & G
Investment Management Limited on behalf of Prudential plc that the total
notifiable interest of Prudential plc (which includes the interests of M & G
Group Limited, M & G Investment Management Limited, M & G Limited and The
Prudential Assurance Company Limited) in the ordinary shares of Chloride is now
25,200,386 (10.17%).

This compares with Chloride's announcement made on 14 November 2001 of the
interest of Prudential plc in 24,758,203 (9.99%) Chloride ordinary shares.
