SDL Powers DNV GL's Digital Online Transformation
Dynamic Digital Experiences Delivered in 18 Languages Across 36
Websites
MAIDENHEAD, UK - September 21, 2017 - DNV GL, which advises
organizations on the safety and sustainability of businesses in
multiple industries, recently consolidated five disparate CMS
platforms onto SDL's scalable Web Content Management (WCM)
solution. Dynamic, relevant and local content is now delivered to
customers in 18 languages across 36 websites.
Addressing the global growth challenge is no easy task. DNV GL
decided to tackle this head-on by engaging with online customers in
their local language, and device of choice. A mix of legacy content
management systems and processes meant that it was difficult to
maintain a consistent brand identity across all languages and
digital touchpoints. DNV GL needed to find a way of scaling its
brand and content, while giving local marketing teams the freedom
to create local, culturally relevant and highly personal customer
experiences.
The only way of achieving this level of engagement was by
consolidating its five disparate CMS investments onto SDL's highly
scalable WCM platform. This enabled the company - through SDL's
BluePrinting capabilities - to centrally manage all global websites
from a single platform. Now content is dynamically assembled based
on a taxonomy-based approach, ensuring visitors always see the
latest content while website management efforts are reduced to a
minimum.
"Our website is the window to the DNV GL world. Almost all (90%)
of our contacts come through the website. We had to find a way to
manage our websites in an efficient and future proof manner," said
Anders Øvreberg, Digital Communications Manager at DNV GL. "We know
that with SDL, our site is scalable and flexible due to its
architecture, advanced content re-use and easy user management. We
now have up to 350 people who work with the system within DNV
GL."
"DNV GL is a true pioneer in its field and operates in some of
the toughest industries, said Jim Saunders, Chief Product Officer,
SDL. "Their website features an enormous amount of incredibly
useful content, and we're delighted to help deliver that to
customers in a truly dynamic and meaningful way."
"SDL's microsite solution lets us easily launch and reuse
microsites. You can create a new site at the click of a button, and
we have recently used this to create a dedicated microsite for our
annual report," Øvreberg said. "This enables us to move away from
the massive paper publication we historically ship, showing our
customers how we innovate in this space towards a digital and more
sustainable future."
DNV GL worked with SDL partner, Incentro, to consolidate its web
content management systems and to implement the taxonomy approach.
"I really see DNV GL as having a forward-looking vision about what
they want to achieve, and they recognize the ways that Incentro -
together with SDL technology - can support them in this," said
Pascal Schipperheyn, Key Account Manager at Incentro, sa.
