Turner to Drive Growth Agenda as Socialtext
Meets the Fast-paced Demand for Effective and Relevant
Collaborative Software in the Workplace
Socialtext, a leading enterprise social software provider, today
announced the appointment of Stephen Turner as senior vice
president and general manager. Mr. Turner, a 25-year veteran in
software technology, has a strong track record working with both
large, enterprise companies and start-up organizations. In his new
role, Mr. Turner will be responsible for overseeing Socialtext’s
business strategies and sales functions. His appointment solidifies
the company’s commitment to exceeding the surging millennial
expectation for collaborative social technologies in the workplace
that mirror the personalized, consumer software they experience in
their daily lives.
In 2012, PeopleFluent, a leading human capital management
company owned with Socialtext by Bedford Funding, began working
with Socialtext to redefine the way employees experience Talent
Management Software. The combined technologies deliver powerful
collaboration capabilities that improve employee engagement and
increase productivity, while enabling more strategic
decision-making that drives better business outcomes.
“Our technology investments continue to include a commitment to
enhancing real-time, fact-based collaboration for better outcomes
across industries from healthcare environments to large corporate
enterprises. Stephen’s proven track record in this arena enables
him to understand the industry landscape and explore different
opportunities and use cases to bring to market for Socialtext,”
said Charles S. Jones, founding partner of Bedford Funding.
Socialtext has been designed from the ground up to enhance
collaboration across groups and teams, connect in real-time with
customers to boost customer satisfaction, and support the sharing
of best practices and the most relevant content resources. This is
made possible through an intuitive interface, robust search
capabilities, and a rich toolset for alerts, transferring
knowledge, and generating new ideas.
“Today’s social collaboration solutions have to be fundamentally
grounded in solving meaningful business problems across every
industry,” commented Mr. Turner. “The next generation of social is
where the current opportunity stands, and I’m looking forward to
identifying those specific use cases and bringing new offerings to
market to solve these industry challenges. PeopleFluent’s work with
Socialtext to create its award-winning MIRROR user interface is
inspiring, and I’m excited to join a company that understands the
importance of engaging its employees through social and video.”
Prior to joining PeopleFluent, Mr. Turner was an
Entrepreneur-in-Residence for TEF, serving as a strategic adviser
to their portfolio companies. He also previously served as COO for
Accept Corporation, a SaaS-based enterprise product innovation
solution company. He has also held a variety of executive
leadership positions in prominent technology companies, including
Allegis, SAP and ASK Computer Systems. Mr. Turner is based in Bay
Area and will work out of PeopleFluent’s Palo Alto, CA office.
