Eni SpA (ENI.MI) said Thursday that it has made a gas and
condensate discovery on the Akoma exploration prospect offshore
Ghana.
The well has an estimated volume of between 550 billion and 650
billion cubic feet of gas and between 18 million and 20 million
barrels of condensate, Eni said.
"The discovery has further additional upside for gas and oil
that will require further drilling to be confirmed," the company
said.
Eni said the well is located around 50 kilometers offshore in
waters about 12 kilometers northwest of the Sankofa production
hub.
Eni is the operator of the block with a 42% stake, while Vitol
Holding BV, Ghana National Petroleum Corp., Woodfields Upstream and
Explorco hold minority stakes.
