                             Sefton Resources, Inc.

                          ("Sefton" or "The Company")

Second successful gas test at Tapia Canyon Field, California

As a follow-up to the January 6, 2004 press release in which the Snow #1 well
(West part of field) had an absolute open flow test of approximately 1.3 million
cubic feet of gas per day from a depth of 775 feet; the Yule #8 well (East of
Snow #1) tested approximately 1.7 million cubic feet of gas per day from a
similar depth (735 feet) and from the same geologic interval.

The geologic re-evaluation of this field and surrounding fields indicate the
possibility of shallow gas reserves behind pipe in many wells in this area that
have been overlooked to date.

Gas reserves can be sold on the open market or be used in generating steam for a
modified steam flood recovery scheme at Tapia. This will reduce costs to lift
the oil. As part of the development of Tapia, increasing gas reserves will be a
high priority, particularly as there is a ready market for such gas, the
producing zone is shallow, and the development and operating costs will be low,
since existing wells will be utilized.

In addition to adding gas reserves at Tapia, the Company plans to initiate a 3
well steam pilot program using the aforementioned gas. Expectations are for
increased production of the heavy oil resulting from heating the formation with
steam, by utilizing the low cost gas within the field as an energy source.
