After the release of Germany's ZEW economic confidence index for December at 5:00 am ET Tuesday, the euro changed little against its major counterparts.

The euro was trading at 1.1784 against the greenback, 133.69 against the yen, 1.1660 against the franc and 0.8831 against the pound around 5:01 am ET.
