London Borough of Bromley Purchases Geac MPC Software - UK local government authority signs $200,000 contract with Geac MPC reseller NRJ Consulting - MARKHAM, ON and SOUTHBOROUGH, MA, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Geac (TSX: GAC, NASDAQ: GEAC) today announced that NRJ Consulting, a local government reseller of Geac MPC performance management software in the UK, has won a software and services contract valued at approximately US$200,000 with The London Borough of Bromley. The first phase of the Geac MPC implementation is designed to provide financial management and business performance information related to Bromley's division for special education needs to help that unit budget and forecast resources better. The solution is expected to go live around mid-year 2005. The longer term plan calls for providing up to 300 non-finance management users across the authority - including 60 elected members - with internet access to critical performance data through Geac MPC's Strategy Management application. Geac MPC is expected to enhance financial control and provide cohesive reporting to improve decision making across the authority. "It's vital that we can fully understand all our financial and non- financial information in order to make effective decisions in the best interests of our general public," Paul Dale, Director of Resources at The London Borough of Bromley, said. "But this requires simultaneous access to multiple specialist systems, as no one system can provide all the answers. Geac MPC, with its Strategy Management application, is the ideal mechanism to consolidate this information in a meaningful format for our users." London Borough of Bromley joins a number of UK public sector organizations, including Luton Borough Council and The Learning & Skills Council, on the roster of Geac MPC users. "We are pleased that Geac MPC is gaining some market traction in the government sector," Charles S. Jones, Geac's President and Chief Executive Officer, said. "We see opportunity to further penetrate the government sector worldwide with Geac Performance Management solutions to enable government officials to better manage their organizations."
