Glen Burnie Bancorp (GLBZ) Share Price

Wow, nice board traffic!!!!

It is overpriced because investors have been slow to catch on to its investment portfolio losses that wiped out 60% of its equity. Read the 10-Q. I would hardly categorize it as “a sleepy and boring little bank” considering its aggressive risk taking and bond speculating. Book has plunged from $12.56 to $5.01 so far this year. Share price dropped from $14 to $8.50 with the trend is almost certain to continue.

Average P/B rayio for banks is 1.2. GLBZ’s book value of $5.01 suggests share price should be in the $5 to $6 range. Maybe less.

GLBZ has 1.73 Price to Book Ratio!! Why??

Bank of Glen Burnie's stock price has recently dropped by a lot. But it is still trading at 1.73 times book (as of 11/18/22). Everything I have read says that such a high ratio is only warranted for superstar banks. But this is just a sleepy and boring little bank. Am I missing something? I have owned this for a while but have seen nothing in the news. Please help.

Does the current share price make sense?
I bought 200 shares of GLBZ about a year ago and so far it has done nicely. Recently it has been trading in the range of about $12.00 to $12.50. Does anyone have any thoughts whether or not this is an appropriate market valuation?

Glen Burnie Bancorp is a bank holding company. It owns all the outstanding shares of capital stock of The Bank of Glen Burnie (the Bank), a commercial bank. It provides services in northern Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas from its office and branch in Glen Burnie, Maryland and branch offices in Odenton, Riviera Beach, Crownsville, Severn (two locations), Linthicum and Severna Park, Maryland. The Bank also maintains two remote automated teller machine (ATM) locations in Ferndale and Pasadena, Maryland. The Bank is engaged in the commercial and retail banking business, including the acceptance of demand and time deposits, and the origination of loans to individuals, associations, partnerships and corporations. The Bank’s real estate financing consists of residential first and second mortgage loans, home equity lines of credit and commercial mortgage loans. Commercial lending consists of both secured and unsecured loans.
