Fourteen Hundred Members Join Plumtree Developer Program in Its
First Three Months Over 250 Attendees Convene at Plumtree's First
Annual Advanced Developer Conference for Building Service-Oriented
Applications SAN FRANCISCO, Plumtree Advanced Developer Conference,
May 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Enterprise Web leader Plumtree
Software today opened its first annual developer conference for
building service-oriented applications with an announcement that
over 1,400 customers and partners registered for its developer
program since the program's inception in February, and over 250
developers traveled to San Francisco to participate in the
conference. The conference features case studies from customers
like The Bankers Bank and Cox Enterprises, hands-on developer labs
and over 25 new technical presentations on building
service-oriented applications. Plumtree is hosting a Web seminar
for developers to learn more about Plumtree's Enterprise Web
Development Kit (EDK) and Developer Tools Roadmap on May 19 with
registration at: http://www.plumtree.com/04/edkdev . "In only a few
months, Plumtree has established a new franchise among its
customers and partners, which we believe is a major competitive
asset," said Plumtree President and CEO John Kunze. "We have also
developed an entirely new curriculum for building service-oriented
applications, giving our customers the technical know-how and
business methodology to create competitive advantage." Plumtree's
developer program is the only one of its kind to offer both Java
and .NET developers the technical support, training and best
practices they need to build service-oriented applications using a
variety of development tools and application servers. Program
members get a subscription to Plumtree's developer newsletter and
participation in user groups, monthly technical seminars and
Plumtree's annual developer conference. Members can also access the
Plumtree Developer Center, an online resource center offering over
1,500 discussion threads and thousands of pages of documentation to
an average of 2,800 visitors per week. Program registration is open
to customers and partners at http://www.plumtree.com/developers.
Program Growth Attributed to Developer Demand for Building
Applications From Disparate Services The growth of Plumtree's
developer program is based on strong demand from developers who
want to build service-oriented applications that draw services from
different applications servers and systems. Plumtree's EDK helps
ensure that these disparate services work together so that building
cohesive, interactive applications with Web services is as easy as
building them with native objects. With the EDK, developers have
greater flexibility to build service-oriented applications without
increasing development costs or compromising functionality. "Every
application server vendor provides a support program for building
applications using its platform and development tools," said
Plumtree's Executive Vice President of Product Development Eric
Zocher. "But in the real world, the kinds of applications
organizations now seek to build draw on services developed and
hosted in a variety of environments, maintained both by the
enterprise as well its customers and partners. Ensuring these
services can work together in a cohesive application is our unique
mission, and Plumtree's new developer program is crucial to its
success." For more information, developers can visit the expanded
Developer Center, which now includes a new libraries section with
sample APIs and a new, easier to use documentation section:
