X-Rite, Incorporated (NASDAQ:XRIT) is taking
a new training program on the road this spring to 10 U.S. cities
and Canada that supplements the company's popular Fundamentals of
Color and Appearance (FOCA) by providing hands-on training on
sample measurement, data collection and reporting for quality
control.
The new Fundamentals of Instrumentation and Quality
Control (FIQC) one-day seminar is a response to customers who have
a working knowledge of color theory and want to learn more about
how to prepare samples, interpret data, set tolerances and store
and retrieve data. Both seminars are aimed at helping quality
control and assurance professionals, lab technicians, parts
suppliers, pre-media and digital pressroom personnel and
manufacturing specifiers on how to evaluate and approve colors in
their workflows.
Experts at X-Rite Color Services
will teach the day-long seminars starting in February in
Chicago; Nashville, Tenn.; Cincinnati; Clemson, S.C.; Rochester,
N.Y.; Baltimore; Los Angeles; St. Louis; Toronto, Canada;
Milwaukee, Wis. and Portland, Ore. X-Rite is the world's leading
designer and manufacturer of color measurement instrumentation and
software, as well as a provider of related training and support
services. The corporation is the parent company of
Pantone LLC, known worldwide for its standard language of accurate
color communication in the graphic arts and other
industries.
For the complete agenda and online registration,
visit http://www.xrite.com/seminar or
call 888.439.4403 to speak with seminar coordinators and register
by phone.
The cost of the FOCA seminar is $595, and the cost of the
FIQC seminar is $895. Those who register for either seminar from
Jan. 24 to Feb. 24 will receive a 10% discount. X-Rite is offering
a bundled price of $1,295 for those who register for both seminars.
The seminars run each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and continental
breakfasts and lunches are provided.
"These seminars are particularly effective and fun because
we encourage hands-on participation," said Joel Schick, Business
Development Manager of X-Rite Color Services. "Attendees are asked
to bring their own samples so they can develop best practices in
measuring the colors of their products to improve and monitor
workflows. We love it when the attendees come prepared with
questions about their quality control needs."
Attendees should check if the X-Rite seminars can qualify
as continuing education under certain accreditation
programs.
Geared for those without any prior training, the FOCA
course addresses color control for a variety of industries,
including retail and apparel brands, business and consumer
electronics, automotive, graphics arts, packaging and their related
industries in plastics, coatings, and textile manufacturing.
Attendees are given a solid foundation in the basics of color and
appearance, and then instruction on how to measure, view and
understand color data.
The FOCA course is not a prerequisite for taking the FIQC
course, but those registering for FIQC should have familiarity with
color measurement nomenclature and basics.
Attendees of either seminar will receive an X-Rite Munsell
Interactive Learning Kit that reinforces the lessons with
worksheets, samples, and exercises, as well as X-Rite’s exclusive
Fundamentals of Color and Appearance book that acts as a reference
on color in easy-to-read language.
Each location will have a drawing at the end of each
seminar for one free seat of quality assurance software, a $3,200
retail value where the winner has the choice of X-Rite ColorMaster
QAII, Color iQC Professional, or X-Color QC. All participants will
also receive a $250 voucher towards the purchase of any X-Rite
product, with a minimum order value of $2,500.
There will also be a drawing at each location for a free
license to X-Rite's eLearning course called Color Theory:
Understanding the Numbers of Color, an interactive eLearning course
that brings X-Rite’s experts into your home or workspace at your
convenience.
All attendees of the seminar tour are eligible to win an
X-Rite CAPSURE handheld color-matching tool which will be given
away to five lucky individuals at the completion of the
tour.
