Chrysler Group Announces New Appointments in Product Development *
Stephen J. Bartoli named VP-Strategy, to oversee product strategy
development for all Chrysler Group brands * Mark Chernoby named

HILLS, Mich., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Chrysler Group has
announced the appointment of two new vice presidents in the
Company's Product Development organization. Stephen J. Bartoli is
named Vice President-Strategy and Mark Chernoby is named Vice
President-Advance Vehicle Engineering, effective immediately. Both
positions report to Eric Ridenour, Executive Vice President-Product
Development. "Our goal is to produce the most aspirational,
innovative and highest- quality new vehicles that we possibly can,"
said Ridenour. "Together, Steve and Mark have the depth of
experience and leadership abilities to help us deliver this goal,
efficiently and effectively." Bartoli is responsible for developing
and directing strategy for the Company's product line-up and for
supporting corporate strategic planning processes. Additionally, he
will ensure that Chrysler, Jeep(R) and Dodge brands use common
processes to integrate new technology into vehicles, oversee safety
and fuel economy objectives, and drive efficiencies in development.
Bartoli joined Chrysler in 1986 and has held positions in Product
Development, Marketing, and Product Planning. Before assuming this
new appointment, he was Director-Chrysler Car Marketing and Premium
Vehicle Product Planning. He has an undergraduate degree in
mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a
master's degree from Northwestern University. Chernoby is
responsible for directing the advance vehicle engineering
activities for all Chrysler products, including advance vehicle
concept development and innovation, and virtual engineering.
Additionally, he has overall vehicle responsibility for the
Chrysler Crossfire. Since joining the company in 1983 as an
engineering trainee, Chernoby has held a series of increasingly
responsible positions. Most recently, he was Director-
Noise/Vibration/Harshness (NVH) and Energy Management in the
Scientific Laboratories and Proving Grounds organization. Chernoby
has a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan
State University, a master's degree in mechanical engineering from
the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and an MBA from Michigan State
