Employers Holdings, Inc. (EHI) is a holding company. The Company is a provider of workers' compensation insurance focused on select small businesses engaged in low to medium hazard industries. EHI employs a underwriting approach designed to individually select specific types of businesses, predominantly those in the lowest four of the seven workers' compensation insurance industry-defined hazard groups. It markets and sells its products primarily through independent agents and brokers and through its strategic partnerships and alliances, including its principal strategic partners, ADP, Inc. (ADP) and Anthem Blue Cross of California (Anthem). It conducts operations in 30 states, with approximately 50% of its business in California. The Company’s subsidiaries include Employers Insurance Company of Nevada (EICN), Employers Compensation Insurance Company (ECIC), Employers Preferred Insurance Company (EPIC) and Employers Assurance Company (EAC).
