hefty write-down weighed on the technology giant's year-earlier
results and the company also reported a revenue decline. H-P also
unveiled a handful of executive changes. Shares fell 7.7% to $23.42
premarket as revenue came up short of expectations, although the
bottom line number was in line with expectations.
Sears sharply widened its fiscal second-quarter loss as the
retailer logged lower revenue and its margins were pressured.
Shares fell 6.4% to $40.49 premarket.
SunEdison Inc. (SUNE) on Thursday unveiled plans to spinoff its
semiconductor business into a separately traded public company.
Shares of SunEdison jumped 15% to $7.80 in recent premarket
trading.
Hain Celestial Group Inc.'s (HAIN) fiscal fourth-quarter profit
jumped 11% as the organic-products company reported sharply higher
sales, led by growth in the U.K. The better-than-expected quarterly
results, along with rosy outlook targets for the new year, sent the
company's shares up 6.7% to $77.77 premarket.
