Philip Morris Names First Chief Diversity Officer

Philip Morris International Inc. said Friday that it has named
Silke Muenster as its first chief diversity officer who will report
directly to Chief Executive Andre Calantzopoulos, effective March
15.
Previously, Ms. Muenster held positions at Coca-Cola Co.,
Apollinaris & Schweppes and Marbert Kosmetik.
Chief diversity officers who report directly to the CEO are rare
among major corporations. Only five companies in the S&P 500
had a diversity or inclusion officer in such a position last year,
according to The Wall Street Journal's environment, social and
governance research analysts.
PMI, which has around 73,500 workers, said that women currently
make up 36% of management roles as the company strives for 40% by
2022.
