Technicolor (TMS.FR), which was previously called Thomson SA, Thursday said it sold its convergent media systems activities to Sony Electronics Inc., a unit of Sony Corp. (SNE).

MAIN FACTS:

- The terms of this transaction are financially non-material to Technicolor.

- The transaction, which closed Jan. 27, affects 150 full-time employees in North America.

- Convergent Media Systems is specialized in digital signage and content distribution systems and lies outside the scope of Technicolor's strategic focus on content creators.

- The divestiture process for Thomson's Grass Valley, Screenvision and PRN units continues.

- Thomson SA shareholders Wednesday approved a name change to Technicolor.
